Those little cuts

I just realized something the other day. I have a tendency to handle my knives more than I actually use them. Some times as Im fidgeting during a meeting or watching tv I will have one in my hand absentmindedly fiddling with it. Sometimes this ends in a small nick in a finger or hand or even clothing. Nothing major but I bet I dont go a week without one. Am I alone here?

Well not about the cuts. But I do tend to use my knives as touchstones. Especially the ones with bone scales. Very soothing

Ditto. I find myself patting my Millie throughout the day. It gives me comfort. :)

I play with mine all the time while watching TV and when I'm on the computer. I always have the inclination to fiddle with something and my knife is there for me.

Anytime I'm sitting at my computer I have a knife (or three) I'm playing with - and yes, I get the occasional nick, and that's why I keep peroxide and band-aids handy also. :D I've noticed axis locks are particulary addictive - had to give that up as I broke the omega springs in about 4 months from opening and closing my mini-grip so much.

Butterfingers!
Sounds like you aren't spending enough time handling knives! ;)

funny you should mention that, I was just fiddling with my CS
Kobun tanto (apparently not paying attention) and kinda hacked into the base of my index finger.....and, to quote Peter MacNicol

"I think I've nipped a vessel"

I wonder sometimes what in the world would I do without bandages!

Same here:cool:

Sometimes I just sit there unconciously flipping my knife open and closed again and again and again...

"Guilty as charged, your Honor"....there`s just something so comforting & familiar about a good knife....(I don`t cut myself much).

Funny you mention that considering I tend to play with my Buck Prince while its still in my pocket and wonder if people are thinking I'm NOT playing with my pocket knife.

Been there, Done that, got bandages.

A couple years ago I pretty much stopped playing with the knives so much, now I mostly play with one of my zippos. (I too suffer from restless finger syndrome.) My lovely wife doesn't particularly care for the noise. Not only is there the hinged lid that can be flipped open and closed but there's also that cool wheel that throws showers of sparks. (Only once did I start a fire in my pocket. It's not something I'm likely to repeat.)

Later Grizz
