Now that this issue has been resolved, we can tell everyone what has been going on. In September of 2003, at BLADE West, these three prototype blades were stolen. We weren't sure whether they were stolen in California or if they had made it back to Ohio. Now it seems that they had been stolen while in California. Luckily, our would be culprit decided to ship them somewhere and they were never delivered as they were lost in transit. They ultimately ended up in the hands of a salvage company who specializes in undeliverable packages, who in turn sold them for approx. $45.00 each!!!

A big thanks goes out to local law enforcement and our newest HIT Man "HOG In Training Man" John Kothanek aka "Catchindirtbags". With their help we were able to get in contact with the seller and get to to the bottom of this mystery. The seller is a great guy who simply got caught in the middle of this and who fell victim to circumstances.

Bottom line:

1.) The prototypes are enroute back to the Busse shop.

2.) We are sending the seller one or two Busse Combat blades to replace the stolen merchandise so that he doesn't get hurt on the deal in spite of the fact that he insisted that it wasn't necessary and he was just happy to see us get our merchandise back. Just more proof of what a great guy the seller is.

3.) The investigation will continue so that we can apprehend the brain surgeon behind this crime of the century. :)

Thanks again to all who contacted us regarding this matter and to John Kothanek for helping us bring it to resolution.

Nuke on!!!

Hmmm - a thieving wanna be hog. How is it that 3 blades could have been lifted from the show? One maybe, but 3?

Since I never saw the blades when they were up, pics when you can please...? :D

Good to hear this issue's been mainly resolved, and I hope you catch that bastid that stole them in the first place!!

They were packed in our large show display cases. All of the knives were checked in by Kassi so the "thieving" must have taken place after the packages were dropped off for shipping. Everyone was leaving on Sunday night so the show boxes were left at the hotel that evening at the concierge's desk for them to ship on Monday. Somewhere between there and their return to Ohio, the blades disappeared. Poor Kassi got chewed out over this at the time and she has now instructed me to send her the culprit's name so that she can deal with them in person!!!! . . . Poor bastid's gonna die at the hands of Blade Babe! :D

We'll hopefully know more as the investigation continues but at this point I'll just be glad to have them back in house.

Blade Bade is on his trail now?

I've got one piece of advice for this scumsucker; Be afraid. Be VERY afraid!

Glad to hear the blades are home. If the culprits in Cali, I'm sure you have a few hogs with connections ;) :D

YOWZA... glad they are back at the shop and just hope that the little bastid get's what's comming when they get caught.

They will wish they had a busse to cut of the cuffs.....

Hold up! So in short your saying that their no longer for sale. I knew I should chose the buy it now option. Did I just say that out loud with the head hog listening.

I was trying to buy them to send back to Busse. Honest.

Glad this is almost over.

Woulda hated to see anyone get caught up in what could have turned out to be a very messy situation.

Hope the original sticky-fingered bastid get what they deserve...

Good.

The E-Bay seller of these knives has done the right thing.

Now let's track down the original thief and stick it to him.

(as the law allows)

Thats no joke!! The take of the century and we get screwed because of $.01 :grumpy:

Goods news - hope justice prevails and the thief gets what he deserves 'cause probably not the first and won't be the last time he does this.

Classy, and typical. Now what kind of cool goodies are you sending, and is he going to auction them?

Wow! I'm glad to see things are almost straightened out.

This calls for a new model! The Busse Bludgeon!

...of course Kassi will be doing all the testing;)

I'm glad to hear this is resolved and I hope to see more than the protos soon. I am dissapointed though, my bids were sincere but inadequate and the blades needed to go home. I'll just wait for my Satin Jack Tac.
I'm surprised the seller didn't research what he had, because his responses to me clearly said he didn't know what he had. Well, Good Luck in catching the f!#&@?*g a!@#$&e who stole them. If I can save and wait, anyone can.
