I seem to have gravitated over here for various reasons. I have been a big bark river fan over the years, somewhat due to the Stewart's participation over at the now defunct knifeforums. Now that is in the past, plus their added expense always made me reluctant to beat on them. That is where Becker comes in, for a reasonable price, USA made, with some Ethan history behind it, I can get my fix, and not feel too bad about beating the crap out of it. 1095 is alot easier to care for than all those supersteels. Will I spend extra money on the new handles, sure, better sheaths, sure. I still feel better about it though. Always nice to have a supportive subforum, you folks seem active here, and very helpful. Lots of interest in modding your stuff too, guess I'll be stripping and patina-ing stuff this summer. Interested in the etching thing, and I have power supplies from work at my disposal. I do alot of day hiking, and have swapped out my daypack for a Condor Ronin chest rig, with a water bottle holder, 2 molle pockets, a BK16, and a BK4 crossdraw under the armpit. The angled handle makes it a perfect ride there. I have done 5 or 6 miles very comfortable, doing trail mnt. along the way. Just wanted to say hello, this is a nice daily stop for me, to see what's going on.

Welcome to the party, brother.

I’m new too. There’s a great group of regular posters here who are very quick to share wisdom and words of encouragement. It’s a nice place to be!:)

Welcome! Come on over, grab a stump, lotsa good folk around here. Don’t let the tank drivers scare you off.

...your hiking kit sounds interesting. Mind posting some pics?

I'll add a welcome and a request for a picture of that cross-draw-under-the-armpit BK4 rig. Sounds mighty interesting.

hmmm...
I think we need pics of this chest rig setup.
sounds like it could be a candidate for "murder harness v2.0"....
Haha! I was thinking the same thing!

Welcome milkyeye. Glad to have you here!

Welcome aboard mate! We’re generally nice people unless you start throwing your Becker recreationally. Naw, just kidding. The guys here are always great as you’ve started to find out. :)

Second the pic request...

OK, I'll try and get a picture up the the rig, been working out real nice. Not big on selfy like pics, but needs to be a shot on the body.
