I hate to say it, but if anyone so much as breathed on the corn in that maze, much less brought a super duper chopping tool to it, we would have been looking at some jail time. The administrators were on this giant podium, watching everyone, coming on the intercom (which was dispersed throughout the maze, eerily so) at random, telling people to stay on the path and be good boys and girls.
Then, there was this one group of kids who decided one of my buddies was getting too 'weird' for comfort, and said, basically 'just stay away, man'. Dude, I was SO close to losing it and starting something...disrespectful, I would not care if they were old, ornery men or strapping young children, I would still stand up to them if they decided to pick on someone who so obviously has a severe mental condition, simply 'because they can'. Obviously, my fighting spirit would change to a reprimanding spirit if I were dealing with the very old or very young, but these men in their prime years of life, they knew better, they weren't drunk, or high, or anything...inexcusable behavior.... As it was, I was a good boy on my birthday, and said nothing. It was close though. I need anger management, this is getting to be all too common an incident....
Anyway, yeah, I heard about that family on the news. Unusual, but not unheard of. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Next birthday, unless a disaster coincides with November 5th, I'll be better off, I hope. Peace everyone.
