I just recently bought a lionsteel M5 and absolutely love it I was looking at the M2 and noticed that Boker made a knife similar called the boker Bob it looks like a really great knife but I was wondering what is everyone's thoughts and opinions on Boker's aus 8 I know sogs is absolutely amazing.

I have 2 knives from Böker in AUS-8 and I don't have much to say on the steel. It does what I expect out of it, decent edge retention, very easy to sharpen, takes a nice polish on the edge. I wouldn't pay more than $60 for a knife in AUS-8, what I paid for my Griploc, but for the price the only thing that left some to be desired was the blade coating.

I've a couple Boker Plus in AUS8 and find it very good. Sharpens up quickly, holds an edge, cuts well. Certainly better than the 440 that a lot of makers use.

I have a Boker Griplock in Aus8, the Boker heat treat is good, maybe a little better than Cold Steel. Mine is made in Taiwan.

it's not bad. i have many examples of it. i don't think it's as good as cold steels though.

Aus 8 is good stuff. Don't let the steel snobs fool ya ;)

it will likely be more than adequate enough for 99% of the members here.

Blade geometry, build quality, heat treatment is what determines a good knife imo.
