Today I got word from my mom that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily they caught it in the early stage. It's only a pin point or what they call Stage 0. My wife and I have been on the phone with a friend of ours who is a breast cancer survivor to get recommendations on surgeons and oncologists. We have her set up for all of her appointments and surgery will be scheduled within the next week. My mom is one tough lady and she is determined to kick this in the ass. Her spirits are high and she is relieved that she has found awesome doctors. As an older woman she was not up on the current medical breakthroughs. Luckily she has a good support group around her that knows a bit about it. This put her at ease that she will be in good hands. After the scare of almost losing my dad in December this is another blow that will test our family's strength. We will all pull through this together. Us Collucci's do not go out without a fight. Ever.

Keep her in your thoughts.

I'll keep you posted.

Smoke and prayers up. My sister has breast cancer and has been fighting the good fight for 18 months now. Let me know if your Mom would like to talk to her.

They recently...(last month) discovered cancer involving the lymph node in my mom's stomach, this on top of two heart attacks in the past six weeks. Today I took her to the mall so she could walk for exercise.

Mom's are all fighters....look at the training they got raising us. My thoughts go out to you and yours...

Sad news but Great news! it is great that they caught it in its earliest form. Many times it gets too late.

Wish her a complete recovery.

I'm sorry to hear she -- and the rest of the family -- has to go through this. You know she has my prayers for a complete and quick recovery.

Prayers and best wishes for peace and health for her and your family. :)

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery from this side of the planet Ken. Hang in there, good things do happen.

Smoke sent bro..

BTW my Mother in Law had Stage 0 about 10 years ago. She had the small bit removed surgically and did not even need Chemo or Radiation. Early detection is the key. I am 100% positive she will pull through just fine.

Hopefully, the danger is minute. My Patsy had a lump the size of a King sized pack of smokes & required radical surgery. From what I've gathered in these last 18 months is your Mom's cancer is so tiny that her incision should look like a large dimple.
May God bless Mom & your whole caring family .

Uncle Alan
