Why is it that the folks that post in the Buck Forum are so nice? Sure we have had a few that come by and stink the place up BUT they seem to find their way to the door after a bit.

Next question... Why is it that the two dealers that frequent the Buck Forum and sell Buck Knives exclusively are such nice people and great businesses to deal with?

Not sure I know the answer but I would agree with your assessment. There are a lot of great members on this forum. I don't spent a lot of time in many of the other areas of the board so there may be a similar atmosphere in those venues but in ours it definitely exists.

Yes, we can be a little fan boyish, brand loyal but we are also passionate and sometimes those can tend to overlap.

Part of the attitude may be because Buck has been around for such a long time, they aren't constantly trying to put out the next best, greatest knife ever. IMHO Buck strives to do well what they do, bend over backwards to make the customer happy and at the end of each day leave the world a little better place.

We also spend a lot of time on this forum discussing and sharing data, knowledge, details, etc., about old Buck products. That type of interaction tends to be less inviting to controversy and animosity than other forums where the topics are more related to the newest steel offering and the latest model the company didn't make right and didn't make perfect. Sure, we can get some ruffled feathers and disagreement on when a certain variation or feature first originated but those feathers don't stay ruffled forever.

It comes from general satisfaction. We are happy with our choices, have no reason to defend our choices.

Without getting religious. I also like to believe that the positive energy at the Buck plant, is built into each knife.

I think it also has to do with members being Knife Collectors - the Traditional Forum here at Blade and the AAPK forums attract the same kind of folks that come here - we all seem to enjoy the common bond of traditional values that somehow have made it into the products we like. The Buck Knife Company certainly embodies those same values, thus our "bond" with the company and each other. OH

Besides they make Da*n good knives and have the best warranty/customer service in the industry...What other forum does the manufacturer monitor and join in the conversations? I don't know, I have never been to any others except for one and I had to remove the cobwebs from the site so I could see the pics...Ha!

"Thought for the Day" - Where in the H*LL am I and how did I get here?? Ha!Ha!

I thought things were getting a little mushy...

I want to Thank all of the Great People (mostly) that I get to read and to converse with on this site. FB is right about being here and actually, learn something and get some pen pals, also to show your knives to people who actually appreciate them...

I think Buck set the tone for us by their attitude in general. This is a great place to hang out, as many have noted in the past.

It could be that everyone is armed with knives. ;)

I am fairly new to Buck Knives (first Buck knife was purchased last year) and this forum and I find myself checking in everyday to read up on Buck Knives. I cannot say that for any other forums of any type.

Thank you all!

I agree the Buck and traditional forums (and multi tools) stay civil and polite, between the mods. The Buck family’s company values and the the people on this forum make me proud to be here.

I like to think Buck is a brand that certain types of men and women gravitate to. I know that's the way it is for me. I like simple, natural things. I like being outside doing outdoorsy type stuff and teaching my kids about it. And I like down to earth, good people. I believe that's the target market for Buck. Even though they do make "tactical" knives, the main products are made for outdoorsmen and they stick to that. The people that frequent this forum are always helpful and always willing to offer advise. Buck makes good, quality knives for good, quality people. I have knives made by other companies....but Buck is my brand.
