Thoughts on a civivi fixed blade, M2 backup blade

I'll start by saying I'm a huge fan of WE and Civivi, I've had about 10 of them and think they do great work and have innovative designs that are fun to carry. This is just about the Civivi M2 backup blade. I've carried many fixed blades and like always having one on my belt, a good thing about this one is that it can be carried scout or up and down, which is nice to have options. The blade shape and design is good for cutting and working with because it's a smaller blade with a nice slope down the cutting edge. The handle is where I find my issue. The handle is larger than you'd expect from a knife of this size, at 6'5 I have large hands so appreciate a handle that fits my entire grip. This one also had a finger choil of sorts built into the handle instead of on the bottom of the blade, and this I'm not a fan of. When the choil is on the blade it gives you the option to use it or not, this one, in my opinion, forces you to choke up and have your finger there to use confidently, and even with my large hands it leaves some sticking out of the bottom of your grip which feels awkward. My other issue with it is that the top of the handle is inside the sheath, so when you grab the blade and pull it out, your hand is not in the correct position to just start cutting, it needs to be chocked up and adjusted. I only find issue with this because for me I like to grab my fixed blade quickly, pull it out, and be ready to get to the task at hand. Pulling the M2 backup out it does not feel good in the hand until you make the adjustment. That said, after you do get the correct hand placement, besides the part sticking out from the bottom of the grip, the blade does feel nice
Sorry for the long read and rant on this, in the short time I've had it I've just been having these thoughts and wanted to share them with you all who might be considering one of these blades. Overall I'd rate it a great value and build for the price, about $55

Thats a nice looking knife. Great review.
How is the sheath? My biggest issue with carrying fixed blades is that the sheaths usually leave a lot to be desired. I have primarily carried folders for just that reason but lately have been carrying a fixed blade (Sog seal pup)

The sheath is comfortable for what it is and the price it comes at. I prefer a bit of a dangle when I carry just because they're easier to adjust when you sit and such. Having the sheath be adjustable for carry though is always a nice thing to have and this one was easy to switch from up and down to scout carry. The long handle made it not very practical for up and down carry though, it pressed too much against the stomach or back when not standing, and when standing it was a little close to the body to grab quickly, so I did do scout with it which was better for me

I understand wanting to have a full handle in the hand , but that reminds me of a pukko style of knife and they drive me nuts lol. Something about the long handle short blade type knife just irks me. YMMV
