Thoughts on a good kydex sheath for a TGLB?

Now that I've pulled the trigger on a TGLB I have to pick a sheath. I really liked the looks of the MashedCat sheath selling with the SARGE7 and was thinking of getting one of his for the TGLB. Any thoughts on this one or the Molle version being sold by Busse? Seems to me that the Molle version is generic for a bunch of knives so it won't be the best for any one.

Nice but I like a drainage hole.

BTW, what finish handle is that?

Tan canvas micarta.

Al does drainage holes, probably just on the other side. Personally I like them out the bottom but that's just me. Al does it by special request.

Mashed Cat sheaths are very nice too.

The biggest thing is do you like kydex or a nylon sheath?

Or...you could get both and stop second quessing yourself :D

That handle is tan canvas micarta.
The drain hole is drilled in the back of the sheath and Al makes a great product!!
Mashed Cat makes a FANTASTIC Gemini sheath but he doesn't have a Light Brigade Gemini and the original Gemini sheath doesn't work very well for the LBTG. I put my LB in and almost couldn't get it out.
The Spe Ops Combat Master sheath is an EXCELLENT option for the TG!! Mine has a Leatherman Wave, Light my fire rod and striker and some fat wood all stored in the front pouch.

I know Buy Brown has one on hand to make them already. Great fit and great guy too.

Does that sheath hold the knife in without the retaining strap? I like the way a Kydex sheath snaps over the knife and locks it down with no fuss or muss.

It has a kydex (or at least I think it's kydex) insert that you can heat up in the oven and mold to the shape of the blade to get better retention.
Mine holds fine but I wouldn't hang upside down or run without the strap done up.

Yeah, Spec Ops is another good choice, the top pic shows one with the 711 & Camp Tramp which are very similar sized blades to the TG as you can see in the second pic. The strap is adjustable and yes you can mold the kydex/plastic liner.

Fixed it for you. ;) The mossy oak and dark brown were offered under their hunting lines which have since gone away. :(

Stop showing me that comp finish!!!!!

:D

No competition finish there, just satin. :)
Competition finish has INFI dimples showing like this in comparison to the satin finish next to it. Pardon the bad lighting.

So they did the TG in Satin? The TGLB is only available in Competition Cut.

They did special runs of Satin Team Geminis, the light brigade treatment is apparently too big a PITA to satin, competition finish, or double cut.

The LB TG is only available in combat grade, at the moment anyway.

For a user, i don't thing you need anything but CG... the coating will last a very long time and there's no reason to spend the extra money on a satin finish for something you're going to use hard

I make a few :)

And I have both on hand in house.

I do drain holes drilled on the inside side at the tip of the knife.

The molded in drain hole at the bottom is Eric's intellectual property alone. If you want that kind of drain hole I would go with him. He is a great guy.

The original TG has a more rounded top and sheaths made for it will not work with the TGLB.
