I am going to buy a barkriver northstar but cant decide on the handle material. I would like to have I think bone or horn. It is hard and lasts, the only worry is how it handles when its wet. I have micarta, G10, and have owned wood, but never bone or horn. I love the look and what it is, but not sure the handle of it. Let me know your opinion, if you do not mind.

Sambar stag, beautiful stuff, there will never be 2 exactly alike. Your grandchildren will fight over it.

It won't slip from your hands when wet in the rain or with blood from the hunt.

Both bone and horn make nice handles and are quite robust. Although not as durable as micarta they do have an advantage in terms of appearance on some knives.

Unless you are planning on very hard use, just buy what you like the look of.
