Thoughts on classic prices?

Looking to close on a house next week, and they just hit me with the fact I need to put 25% down instead of 20% to secure the loan. (No credit lines to my name because i pay cash for everything or else I dont buy it, so never needed a credit card.) So have to part with a few items to build the savings back up. These two knives are new and never carried. The wood inlay has a slight blemish on the non lock side as shown, otherwise perfect and unused. The graphic has slight rub marks on the clip from the pouch that a spa trip would fix right up. Also unused. Not really wanting to move them, but if financing dictates it, i may have to.

If not worth anything, enjoy the knife photos :D

A few of you may have seen my thread about boxes lost to water damage in the basement of the house we are currently in. DOB cards are original though. So thoughts on what is a fair value for these? Asking because not sure if classics go for more or less than 21s.

Thanks
Pat

I've gone through quite a few Sebbies. The Classic "should" bring a tiny bit more than a similar model 21, but I haven't really seen much evidence of a price differential on the Exchange. I generally carry a Classic; I prefer it to the 21. Regardless, I doubt whether the price difference would be more than $25-$35. YMMV.
I believe that you will be able to get "replacement" white boxes from CRK, although they would likely be unlabeled. I have managed to get new white boxes when I've sent in "bare" Sebbies for a Spa massage.

I have a very similar inlay and it is nice. The graphic on the first is very nice too. I don't think there is a premium on the classics, there may be in a few years. Everyone seems to have their sights on the 25's now, I certainly prefer the classics to the 21. I would think you could get about 90 - 95 percent of a current similar priced knife, which would be higher than you hopefully paid for the knives. Probably about $1000 for the pair easily, higher requiring more time.

Not to ask the obvious, but short term loans from your parents, if they can afford it, might be a better option. I just hate to see people sell knives that should appreciate in value.

Duc- The loan from my parents wouldnt be an issue. Infact the 25% down isnt an issue as I have the money. It just eats a little further into my safety net than I would like. Just trying to get an idea on value so that if I was forced to sell I would have an idea.
