I saw some of his hawk's at the tulsa gun show and thought they were pretty impressive I almost bought one but had already spent my money at the busse table whats the general opinions of his stuff

A Warbeast is on my short list of things to get when I go back to work. He's been doing this for awhile, and apprenticed under Bob "Two Hawks" Thallman. A lot of them are in the field, in Iraq and Afghanistan. You never hear anything bad about them, the guys who have them seem to like them. There was an article in Tactical Knives about them a last year, they got a good write up. His practical models are light, handy, and would make good working tools but it's his combat hawks that most people seem to like. I've handled most of his models, and while the Warhawk is lighter, and probably more practical, the slightly larger Warbeast is the one that sings to me. WAAAAY more spendier than a Cold Steel hawk, but good tools are not cheap. You've seen them, you know they are much better built tools, only you can decide if they are worth what he's asking. I like em.
A hint: buy the competition model, have the other edges sharpened, and you have a Warhawk for half the price.....

I have the Longhunter and the Voyager. Devin seems like a pretty stand up guy. I like his work. He is young enough to go far. I didn't like the handles. Hand to shim them up to get them to stay tight. Nice clean work. Seem to hold a fairly good edge. Not a bad deal for casting metal. Need to make some covers for the blades since they were extra to get with the hawks. Get them while you can. The idea to buy the competition and modify it yourself into a tactical hawk in a good one if that's the way you want to go.

thanks for the info I had my eye on the voyager model he had a pretty impressive demonstration where he wacked nails on a stump whith his hawks and they showed no chips on the edge also, im not to familiar with 6150 steel but I read it's at 57 on the rockwell hardness scale so i'm assuming its similar to 5160

I bought one of his competition throwers a couple weeks ago for my dad for Christmas. Unfortunately, I won't know how it performs until then.
