I've never handled anything from DPx, but have heard good things about the H.E.S.T. line (fixed and folders). I'm looking to replace my ZT 0121 with something in the same size range but with a more useful blade shape.

I recently discovered the H.E.F.T. series and the 4" variety looks to fit the ticket for what I'm looking for. I want something to throw on the shoulder strap of my pack for when I need it.

Any thoughts on this knife from owners, past or present? I'm curious about ergos, blade steel, etc. Opinions are greatly appreciated. I just couldn't find as much info online about this knife as I would've liked.

I have heft4 woodsman and milspec. LOVE em. I bought both so Id have the option for sheaths. Steel takes a great edge and seems to hold well. if u get the woodsman take some sandpaper and knock the sheen off the scales or they'll be slippery. I also used some danish oil after and quite grippy now

Great, thanks. Yea I was looking mostly at the milspec because I like G10 but felt like the stonewashed finish would hold up better over time than PVD. I do some amateur kydex pressing, so it's getting a custom sheath no matter what :D Good to hear that the edge holds up though. Do you find them to be a good size to carry and use?

yeah the size is good, ergonomics are super. very comfy. I don't have much bad to say about them except the leather sheath is a bit thin but that obviously makes no diff to u. some sites say discontinued but not sure if that's true or why. everyone who has handled them is impressed
