Hey, folks,

This is my first try. Used a hacksaw, a belt sander, a dremmel tool and whetstone. Just want impressions.

I cant see anything sorry, but I am interested. I dont think that you can upload pictures directly from your hardrive you have to upload them to an Image hosting site its a real pain.

Open the photo in "PB" by clicking on it. Left click then right click on "copy image" Then go to the left and down a bit and right click on "IMG Code" until it turns blue and says "copied". The in your post left click and then right click "paste". Try that...;)

Fixed it. For facebook photos you'll have to get the direct link to the image (the address of the image itself, not the page it's displayed on) for the IMG tags to work.

Cool! Looks good!

I love a good clip point bowie! ....How long is the blade?

Apec, thanks. Don't know how you did it, but thanks for fixing it.

The blade is right at 7.5 inches, A2. Honestly, I did it in about three days, and it took it a year to get it heat treated. I left it with my dad to put a handle on it, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet.

I work in South Korea right now, and honest to God, you have to have a PERMIT to own a knife with a blade longer than 6 inches. Because pencils, clubs, kitchen knives and piano wire couldn't possibly be used as deadly weapons.

Rant concluded.

So any handle ideas? I am leaning toward aluminum hardware.

Aluminum sounds good. That or brass. I would use a single brass gaurd and stacked leather myself! Pretty darn sweet blade for a first.

Also, I forgot to say, I had a dished out aluminum oxide whetstone that let me make the bevel uniformly convex, and the back side of the belt sander touched it up nicely.

Anyway, it is a convex grind.

Also, one of my pet peeves is when the grinding on the two sides of the blade don't match up, so I managed to get it close enough I couldn't tell the difference.

Thanks for the feedback, keep the feedback coming.
