I saw this and it made me think that it might not be such a great design, since it goes against a long history of axe and hatchet refinement. It might make a decent all-in-one tool, but how does it perform as a chopper?
Thoughts?

Horribly for many reasons, Cook describes the reasoning behind the general edge curvature on an axe in detail in "The axe book". The curvatures enhances penetration, reduces wedging and prevents heel and toe fractures.

Is it actually meant to be a 'Chopper' or is it supposed to function like a large chopping knife?

As I suspected its not an 'axe' as the layperson would think but more of a specialised tool. I just bought a Wetterlings Carpenters axe and the difference between it and the Limbing & Hatchet models I have is substantial.
