Thoughts on Gerber 06 Manual

Just wondering if anyone else likes the Gerber 06 Manual in S30V. I've had two for about ten years now, one serrated and one straight edge. I usually have the serrated on me for edc and straight edge for camping. Just curious what some other opinions are on it. There hardly any reviews out there on it which is strange. It's a good design and it is a tank of a folder and that striking pommel is one of the best out there. I'm not sure how Gerber's S30V stands up against the rest out there but it seems pretty good and damn sharp. I'm not a big Gerber fan but they can make good stuff when they want to. It's definitely in that hard use category with the Benchmade Adamas 275, Cold Steel AD10 and Hogue EX01.
 
Never owned the manual one but I've got a couple of 06 Autos that are all very decent.

Only real issues with them is disassembly/reassembly is a PIA (to be fair, that describes most auto designs) and I usually swap out the mainspring for a heavier one as I find the factory one to be a little weak for my taste.

One interesting part of its design is the frame is stamped out in a way that allows for smooth pivoting bare--without needing bronze or Teflon washers. Overall it's a thumbs up.

Also, I thought the manual one was discontinued a year or 2 ago?

Yes the 06 Manual has been discontinued for years now. Just wondering why I haven't seen any reviews on it. Always wondered about the washers or lack of washers. Is that a good or bad thing?
 
I never knew that they made a manual version...
Do you happen to know if they can still be found for sale out there someplace?
I'd dump my 06 Auto in a second...

No, they discontinued them years ago. I happened to pick two up at $60 back around 2010. Still have them and edc them. I looked on ebay and there is one now selling for $399!
