Thoughts on Manix 2 in 154cm?

I know the manix is highly thought of and that spyderco's vg-10 is considered top notch... I think you made a wise investment

The only thing stopping me from getting one is the grind.... well theres the poor college student thing too, but we'll just pretend i can afford it.

I just picked one up with the carpenters steel and flat grind, it's a pretty good knife IMHO.

It is a great knife. Wish they would have gone with a FFG on all the versions. I guess the FFG worked though, because I am hoping to "unload" mine, and pick up a FFG Manix 2. BTW, the 154CM version is my EDC large folder.

I think it's a great knife. I wish it woulda come with about a 4" blade

has awesome ergo's and is very beefy!! I have the FG with carpenter steel, and it's a great knife!!!

The 154CM HG version is still a great knife, even if it isn't exotic steel and FFG. At the prevailing street price, it's also a great value. Go for it - I don't think you'll regret it. If it feels a little funny when you first start using it, stick with it. I warmed up slowly to the Manix 2, but have come to really like it.

Awesome I'm glad it's well thought of. It will be my first folder over 50$. I figured I would love it so I ordered two. I'm really really eager for them to get here.

A little trick I learned with mine. You can use your thumb and index finger to pull back the lock and wrist flick it open. Works well.

any problems currently with spine whack tests on these? I was kinda turned off on the manix when I saw it fail on ankerson's video.

My thoughts as well. I think the Manix 1 was probably better. Wish I wouldn't have sold that one.

Spyderco has the problem all worked out so they are great. :)

Good to know. It will definitely see some use, but probably nothing very hard. Mostly just cutting boxes, opening packages, maybe some food prep.

154cm is stainless correct? And how well does it sharpen/hold the edge?

Yes it is stainless. :)

Holds an edge well and sharpens up great.

I have a manix 2 in cts-xhp and I love every second of it. It's one of the most ergonomic knives I own.

I have both the CTS-XHP and the 154CM versions of the Manix 2 and both are a brilliant design. I prefer the looks of the 154CM because I like a hollow grind blade and know the steel well. That said, the CTS-XHP is in my pocket right now.

As Ankerson gave it the nod, I think you would find the 154CM Manix 2 to be one of the best knives you will ever own.
