Got it today.....knowing the crack mail room staff here at school it was here yesterday but it sat around before i got the message.
Ok immediate thoughts and issues.
The knife is almost the same size and handle as my custom mayo tnt, but the comparisons to it will cease here becouse its not not custom and thus wont be compared to one.
The edges need to be rounded a little bit more, for such a smoth and beveled knife the edges really turn off the flow that it had going. Clip is a bit tight, but that is easyly rectified once somone wins the knife. The bottom guard seems to me to stick out just a tad bit oo far, becouse as i am opening the blade my thumb does hit it and that is mildly anoying. This knife has THE strongest detent i have ever come across in any knife i have had. Also the frame lock has quite a bit of force in it. This traslates into a harder lockign bar to move out of the way when closing and in this case the locking bar is very close to the other scale......not where imho it should be. Also with this lockign bar ther is the aformentioned burr on the bar and on the guard right before it. To the blade, the markings i can live with....i generally prefer small things but the bos treatment icon isnt too big. now my huge complaint is the blade vertical play....not it isnt a large amount of play but it is play, and that just isnt right on this kind of knife. i think it is becouse of the lock bar going over soo far and the grinding of it and the tang of the blade. i think tis thse grinds that allow it to slip back just a little bit, thusly alowing the blade an amount of vertical play. this should never occur ina knife that costs this much. Also about the blade, where the rounded the top of it, they did a cop-out method of putting on a gind that thinned the top edge and then rounded it, this creates a rounded edge, not the fully rounded top that Mr. Mayo puts on his knives. On a positive note the blade doesnt seem to of been gound badly, and i am happy that they are using s30v.
i will post a use review once i have had time to actually use it on more that whats here at my desk and apt.
