What do the knifemakers think of this steel? Pros and Cons please.

this is a swedish version of ats-34 / cm-154 in which case it would a great high carbon stainless. it is one of the componates of DAMASTEEL a power steel damascus.

The grain is supposed to be very fine, it mirror polishes very nice, Don Cowles posed a RWL-34 knife a while back that looked like a pool of mercury, every since I have wanted to get some.

Fantastic...my preferred folder steel. Powder met version of ATS makes for improved everything...improved stain resist, improved edge retention and cuts like a laser. I first got it as I have to get ATS from outside Oz, so I thought I may as well get the good stuff if I have to import anyway...very happy.:)

I loooove it..I use it ALOT....It has abit Vanadium added compared to ATS-34. It is strong, easy to sharpen, gets scary sharp and holds the edge good. It is stianresistant as good or better than ATS-34.

Only con I have is that it does not come in all the sizes I would like. It comes in a fair amont of sizes but nothing wider than 2"...aint no good when the design is something like this ::D
