Thoughts on Talonite EDC

I have a Talonite EDC, a Boker Infinity ceramic blade, and a Puma Protec ALU made out of D 1.4 (whatever that is - I can't seem to find any reference to it). I should be getting a William Henry Black and Tan in the mail in the next few days.

I'm going to complain about a couple of things, but even though I complain, I really like the knife.

The lanyard hole is too small. The frame lock is too stiff. I'd like to get rid of the pocket clip. And the first time I tried to close it one-handed, I stabbed myself pretty badly.

However, it is still the knife I have in my pocket.

I love mine. Only problem is the spot rusting on the handle and screws and clip! Keep in mind taht I live in 98% humidity and 33deg Celceus all year long. If they changed the 420hc handle slab to Titanium, that would be the knive to own!!

kevtan, I agree with you that the Talonite blade deserves titanium backup (i.e., handles and clips). :D

I've been annoyed by the petulant tone of my previous post and wanted to amend it. My negative comments really boil down to preferring a larger knife even for an every day carry knife.

The design is aesthetically and functionally excellent. The fit and finish is excellent. Would I buy a knife from Camillus again? Absolutely. Would I buy a talonite bladed knife again? Absolutely. Would I buy a Darrel Ralph design again? Absolutely.

I don't think those points came through in my previous post, and that was bugging me.

Having spent more time with the EDC framelock, and having had some problems lately with some liner lock folders jamming, I appreciate the solidity of the design a great deal more, and am no longer put off by the stiffness of it having carried it for a couple of days.

Ah, now I feel better having exorcised the trollish spirit that possessed me.
