Anyone own or have experience with this set?

My Wife's basic kitchen knives need a lot of work to get them in shape (dull, chipped, and stained), so I was thinking about just getting a new set for her. We have a good set of steak knives that are still in good shape, but she could use a good pairing and general chef's knife.
PS: Guess I should say that we've had our current set for many years. They were good cheap starter knives, but not worth investing any time or effort in to bring them up to snuff.

I got the 7 piece set two years ago. They are really good and should last a long time. I think they are worth it.

Another Yes vote. I also got the 12 piece (and block) set and love it. Knives are so sharp they need a bit of care to use but make food prep a delight. The three piece set are the most frequently used out of the larger set. I'm glad I saved the money and have dishwasher safe cutlery BUT DAMN those elk knives are so good looking.

Thanks for all the feedback. Are there any other vendors that sell the cutlery sets besides the official Buck site? I spent some time looking yesterday and couldn't find them anywhere else...

nope. from what I've read they dont stock them. more so build to sell, or build as ordered. not sure exactly how or what but they are selling them to vendors. sometimes they do a cutlery sale on kitchen knives off the site. not too often but maybe once or twice a year. think @Makael also said they were doing some changes to them, maybe? I'll let him elaborate with better details if he wants.

They always have a mothers day sale on them if you can wait.
I like mine, but I do prefer my Wusthof knives.
yeah they did that last year, I think. I prefer my Bucks. wusthofs i have arent bad, thin grinds and stock and makes decent slicers, but just prefer the Bucks myself.

JB's right.
I like the grind of the Wusthof for slicing
But those Bucks still get used daily too.

Hey, can you ever have too many kitchen knives?
