Thoughts on the Amphibian and Whisper?

I handled the Amphibian at a knife shop yesterday (Chesapeke Knife and Tool at the Dulles Town Center in Ashburn, Va for any of you Northern Va/DC people). It's a very nice knife. I didn't do much other than fondle it for a bit, but I was impressed with what I saw. It fits then hands well and has good balance.

The Whisper is going to be delayed a little bit. The first batch didn't come out as good as a $350 knife should be, so they're still working on it. Played with a proto of the budget version of the whisper and it is awesome!

Haven't played with an Amphibian...but I think Kershaw makes a knife called the amphibian as well (one of their older models), that I have played with ;)

The Amphibian is really watered down from what it originally was intended to be and I know that cheesed off a lot of MT enthusiasts. As Mitch pointed out about the Whisper, it is still in the works. The knife was originally intended for US manufacture but Kershaw has shifted production to Japan in order to hopefully bring down the cost of the knife a little. Still no word yet on its release.
