Buck Strider models are about the only Bucks I would consider buying. I've had my eye on the Solution for quite sometime now. I like its wide blade, ATS-34 steel, and the G-10 scales. I looks like it couhd handle just about any job, be it field dressing, slicing an apple. And as a tactical weapon, it definitly has a great design. However, I don't like Cordura sheaths and would there for need to have a custom Kydex sheath with a TekLok (and variable mounting postions) made for it. That's about another $50 dollars.
I can get the knife for about $135 so with the custom sheath and shipping (knife and custom sheath), I'd be shelling out about $200.
Do some think this knife is worth this much? Is there a similar design that already has the Kydex/TekLok sheath that I don't know about? I checked out the "real" Strider (from Strider knives) that looks similiar (EB series) and it's about $350 and the blade is a little short shorter. I also don't like the camo color of the blade.
I read the reviews and they talked about bad quality controls. They were posted a few years ago and I'm wondering if Buck has taken care of the problems. There was also talk from Buck to change the flat choil. Customers did not like it. Wondering if they ever did this, also.
Regards and thanks for any info
