I missed I think practically all the knives with the CBT during their intiial releases.

For those who heavily use any knife with it (especially a Battle Mistress) what are your thoughts compared to knives without it? What do you notice most about how a blade performs/feels with CBT?

I have plain and CBT bledes Best I can tell, mine all chop/cut equally well. May boil down to aesthetics. I like the look of the CBT on my FBM's whether they add strength and functionality or not. But, I like the plain blades just as well!

I prefer the CBT. I could be wrong but the FBM's i've had with it feel more agile in hand. Maybe a slight reduction in weight??
I feel they are less prone to being wedged also.
I would like to see the BWM eventually get them.

Thanks for the feedback, I have yet to handle one or read reviews that comment on those specifically. I'm still looking through the old threads though, lol

CBTs rule!

Whether they do anything practical may be debatable.
I know they do provide a better grip if/when choking up on the blade.

My CBT Hell Razor will slice through corrugated cardboard like nothing else I've ever tried. It beats the khuks, machetes, Valiants and any other Busse.

My CBT mistress has been good to me. I thought they were pretty goofy at first, but I warmed up to them pretty quick. They really do help prevent binding in certain situations. I haven't managed to get mine to "wedge" into something during normal chopping, where I've had normally ground blades stick.

Seems to be a nice combination of abilities, not getting stuck and lighter weight. As with fullers you probably do not lose much in terms of rigidity etc. either.

Now why did you go and post that photo......?

I am missing my CGFBM soooooooo bad. :(

It's in the SPA now, I should be getting it back pretty soon.

I think they look bad on smaller knives like the jack hammer and hell razor and are the reason I've never owned either of those. On big blades (battle mistress and AK) they look cool and IMO the CGBM does not get stuck/wedged as badly as a smooth mistress. Plus it's just balanced better than the FFBM and the NMFBM. I am really looking forward to the BWM though.

Interesting, since the CBTs are one of the reasons I love the HR so much.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, I guess. . .

What he said.^ My CGFBM is my go-to blade, I flat out enjoy using it.

I'm so 180 degrees from that. I love the CBT's on the Jack Hammer and the Hell razor. I had Ban remove them from my AK(FBMCG still has them)

I'm not a fan of the CBT. It actually kept me from ordering a couple of models.
