I'm looking to get myself a little something for my birthday and I was thinking about the ETAK-B. This would the the fourth Emerson in my collection. I also have a CQC-7 wave, a CQC-7 non-wave, and a Sheepdog Bowie. I think this would make a nice addition to the fold. Does anyone else have one? What are your thoughts on it?

It's a great knife and the handle is boxy but very comfortable. It locks your hand in like a CQC 15 handle and the blade is a perfect length just shy of 4". I like and prefer the tanto blade now so I love mine. The only gripe is that it's a big knife in the pocket and takes up a lot of room. Other than that it's a great knife

I love mine! One of those knives I would never get rid of, and recommend to anyone interested in it. Just look at the blade design. Notice that there is some curve on the cutting edge, and its fairly thin behind the edge, which makes it a better slicer than a totally straight edged tanto (IME anyway). Also came razor sharp out of the box. The handle is actually very comfortable, and one of the best in the reverse grip IMHO.

Just keep in mind its what most people consider a large folder, but its relatively thin.

Very nice. A larger folder is what I'm after. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this knife has a v-grind as opposed to chisel, right?

I like the blade shape of the " a " better, but great knife regardless.

It's a brute, and just a hair larger than the 13/Tiger. If you like either of those, then the ETAK is right up your alley.

I carried the ETAK every day for over 1 year, as my one main pocket knife. I absolutely love it. It's one solid and very well built knife. I switch up between that, the 15, and the 2004 mini 7.

Thanks for everyone's input. It's helped me decide. I am officially looking to buy an ETAK-B. Anyone have one they'd like to sell? :). If not, I will just buy one retail. Either way, I will have one!

Use the WTB forum, or just get a new one.

What knife is that on the far left side of the picture? Or the first knife looking at the picture? Thanks.

That's the Hattin, one of the past limited run knives. A rare bird indeed.

thank you Sir. that is an impressive blade shape and handle combo. sure wish that one was active in production. 4+" blade length on it?

I just got my ETAK A, this thing is awesome and lucky serial number 0007. It feels great in hand, opens smooth as butter

Very cool knife. I have a thing for low and/or special serial numbers, so lucky 0007 is too cool. I have a ZT 0452cf thats lucky number 0013. My ETAK-B is No 0085.

How did you get number 7? Just luck of the draw?
