Thoughts on the Gerber AR 3.00?

Just bought a Gerber AR 3.00 today (partially serrated, bead blast finish). Slick little knife with a nice shaped handle. I haven't put it to use yet, but has anyone got one of these?

Yes! I have given several of these away as gifts. Especially on trips to Nicaragua. They are nice knives on the cheap with a tight lockup and good steel in that range. I only wish the aluminum had some texture to it.

They are very inexpensive for a knife with AUS-8 steel. In the U.S. you can get them at K-Mart stores for $30.00.

It's a very nice little knife. My wife has her choice of over a hundred folders and she chose this one. She like the smooth action and the rubber inserts. Oh! yes and it's pretty. The ladies she's shown it to agree. Go figure!

I picked up the AR 3.00 because the store didn't have what I had come in for.It was packaged with a sharpener and seemed like a steal at $25.00.This knife has found a place in the pocket of a ratty shirt I wear around the house.I too like the feel of it,and since I got it cheap,I don't worry about having it do those odd jobs you wouldn't want to do with a collector.I'll probably pick-up another to keep in my truck

I like it alot.
The only reasons I don't own one are
1)I prefer lockbacks over liner-locks.
2)I prefer the Spyderco Hole over studs.
But I do think it's a great knife.
