I am in need of a good folding knife for under $200. I saw the Kestral manual and loved the design, but know nothing about it. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I like the knife and would carry it more if the pocket clip didn't make it ride high. I'm always afraid it's about to hang up on something and fall out of my pocket. Some people have said if your wearing jeans it fits perfect in the small coin pocket. Personally I would pick up a microtech LCC manual before I'd get a kestrel.

Howdy!

The Kestrel is a great knife, design is very nice as is the quality.
The note about the clip is dead on.
What i don't like with the manual version is that due to the small size it's hard for me to open with the thumb studs.
The auot version is much easier to open as you only push the button.

If you like the design of the Lcc i'd recommend it for general duty over the Kestrel.

Or get both

My knives!

Another vote for the kestrel. Although some folks think it's blade is too small, I find it just right for SOME general purpose cutting. It's not a utility knife, though. And it's a great "equalizer" if you know what I mean.
