What do you guys think of this gun? I own a few other Sig's and have had nothing but perfect performance from them. The dealer I go to said thay don't like it. I have read a few test reports on the Pro that reported some very good results. I am thinking of getting one and I have never had the chance to shoot one so if you have any first hand experience with this gun please let me know good or bad! Thank You!

well one of my buds has the .40 cal flavor SIG/pro, and its a good accurate reliable gun, no probs - he's fixing to get a .357SIG bbl for it, its KINDA similar to the glock, personally, and i have a few SIGs (ie P220 .45ACP, P225 9MM, P226 and P228 9MM, actually the P225 is my wifes.....) but i think i would rather have a glock if i wanna go polymer, just because ya can get all the accesories (ie spare mags, leather gear, accesories in gen'l....) a LOT easier and cheaper, but there aint a darned thing wrong w/them - other than to me, anyway, they just dont LOOK like a SIG, but they shoot/function like one - imho a good pistol, and priced right too.....

I fired/handled several of the sigpro pistols in .40cal at a range/store I was working at. I didn't care for the arrangement of the operating (decock, slide release) levers; this is probably due to my preference for standard SIG setup or other pistols.
I also didn't like the short grip; during rapid mag changes I pinched my hand (OK I'm a wuss).
I would definitely go with a standard type SIG pistol, Glock, Beretta, etc. rather than the sigpro.
On the up side, I did hear that the DEA had tested and approved the .40SW sigpro for carry by some agents.

Thanks Mwinter! This pistol has so many stories good and bad. I like the looks of it but I need to be sure it funtions at 100%, I guess the only way to find out is to shoot it a bunch but how do you do that without buying one!!??

I had a Sig Pro in .40 briefly. Did not like it at all. Did not have a good feel to it. Much prefer my 228 or my H&K USP-40. Wound up selling it for like $150 less than I paid for it.

My advice to you would be buy a glock, if your wanting
a polymer frame gun, there is no better. As for the sig
pro, for starters the grip frame is not comfortable for
me, it is just to big, and like every other sig, the decock
lever is awkward. I'm the sure the gun functions well, and
is accurate, but it just doesn't trip my trigger.

If you can afford it go for a sig, they make excellent guns out of the box. Repairs and mods are costy, I also believe that after about 15,000 or 20,000 rounds they show signs of major wear on the springs and what not according to one of the leading gun magazine., much like my browning. However, very few people go through that many rounds. However, I agree with the poster above it seems like glock are top dogs when it comes to the number of rounds you can put them through, and are very accurate. However I don't think the handle is at all comfortable.

Another question. I've got an opportunity to buy a SigPro in .40. With night sights. For $376. It's an LEO 2002 Olympics Commemorative. Is this a good deal? I can get the P239 for $427. I think this is what I'll get, but I'm not sure yet.

Poboy, I would jump on that 2340 deal! Do you know of any others like that f/s?
I owned a 239 in .357 SIG with Hogue rubber fingergrooved grips. I regret selling it, but I needed to in order to buy my Glock 31 for duty use.
The 239 in .40 or .357 is a great pistol, but for a 9mm they are too large IMHO.
