I just ordered one and it hasn't come yet. I was just wondering if I made the right choice for an EDC knife. What do you guys think of the Spyderco Persistence?

I love mine you get a really nice knife for a low price. Quality is great locks up really well and it has a very smooth pivot. The ergonomics are well done, feels good in hand. I have been thinking about also getting the blue handled version sometime. I put my persistence in my regular rotation of EDC knives.

for the price it is almost unbeatable ( i prefer the tenacious). it is a great medium sized knife that in any hand fits well. My father only carries a persistence when he works, mainly because he isnt much of a knife guy.

^^^ Blade-feind it is worth the extra $10, my first persistence was one of the first production line (under 50), long story short ex-girl has it now & she loves it even more

TB4, any of the Tenacious family will do you well for EDC. Good steel, G10, nice clip, and reasonably priced. Not much to find fault with. Well regarded around here.

Spyderco Persistence.

I used to own one; it was my first Spyderco. The only thing I didn't like about it is the closed width. The width of the blade a design necessary for the opening hole, but when closed, it has a large footprint that can sometimes get uncomfortable when sitting in tighter pants.

It's just a personal design preference. Quality-wise, no problems. If you tend to wear more relaxed clothing, it will be just fine.

I have considerd the tenasious (which i might still get) but i think i will like the shorter blade length for controlability and accuracy for small tasks like opening letters or packages.

Used to have one and still have an Ambitious out of the Spyderco (China made) value line. Any of the knives in that series are tough to beat for the $$. The f&f really shines, easily sharpened and materials are better than expected for the price. *Be cautious when swaping clip position on it though since the screw heads tend to strip rather easily.

FWIW another good value folder in the 3" blade range is the Ontario RAT 2.

I have one of each of the Tenacious family and I really like all of them. They are an awesome value.
