Anyone here own or have experience with the Temperance 2?

I'm looking to picking one up in the near future.
I have some Mules that I enjoy, and I like how the Temperance 2 looks like it may feel like a larger Mule, which is what I'd be going for.
I also like VG10, and the micarta scales are just a bonus! :)

So please post up your input. Good or bad, please be honest.
Photos are always welcome! Especially in use, or in comparison with other well know folders and fixed blades.
Thanks!

The Temprance 2 is probably one of the best feeling fixed blades I've ever put in my hands. I see one occasionally for sharpening and always fall back in love with its awesomeness, I only use a fixed blade once in a blue moon though so I've yet to purchase one for myself. I really want one though.

I can attest to this. I honestly think that, in the hand, it feels like something that's a semi-custom. The micarta and ergos are great, and I actually love the sheath (also I think it's been updated since I bought mine).

I've had one for about 3 years, and at first I was hesitant to use it for anything too heavy, like batoning. However, lately I've started to push it further and it's handled everything gracefully.

I love the VG10, too. I've always found it very easy to keep crazy sharp. As a do everything fixed blade that can handle heavier tasks but also excels as a camp kitchen knife, you definitely can't go wrong!

Great to hear the positive input!

I'll be keeping this one high on the list! :)

VermontEdge, do you happen to have any photos handy of yours that you can post up?

Here are a few pictures of mine.

Note that no baton was used in the wood splitting pictures. The wood is seasoned black locust, which is pretty hard and at least around here, pretty knotty wood.

I don't have a picture of the TempII with a Mule, But I do have one of the Temperance with one.

Thanks for posting up! Great spread of photos.
Looks like yours is getting some proper workout.

Putting the Military in there helps a lot for size reference.

Is that Hossom the "Dayhiker" version?
Interesting coincidence of using the Hossom for comparison - I was just speaking with a local forum user yesterday about a Dayhiker he had for sale and I was considering purchasing that in place of the Temperance 2 instead.... but, he had apparently already sold it.

Looks like the angled plunge line on the T2 buys a bit more cutting edge over the original Temperance.

Yes, that is a Hossom Dayhiker. I find the Temperance 2 far more useful. The edge is much thicker on the Dayhiker, so it would withstand abuse better, but I prefer to cut with my knives rather than beating things into submission with them. The Temp2 has about an extra half inch of cutting edge compared to the original Temperance.

Sorry about the pic delay, but I finally dug some up!

Excellent pics of the TEMP 2 model. I've yet to own one but I've handled a couple of them at gun shows here locally and the balance and handle fit are great. The original Temperance 1 model has been my most used multi-purpose fixed blade that I have ever owned. I do eventually want to get a TEMP 2 but I can't imagine that it can do anything that a TEMP 1 can easily handle.

They are both some of Spyderco's most excellent "In House" designs.

Excellent pics!

Is that the factory stock sheath? Or a custom?

Thanks! That's the sheath that came with mine, plus some para cord that I added. I think the new ones come with a leather sheath though...

I really love this one though. The g-clip offers a lot of different carry options. I usually prefer to go horizontal on the back of my belt or clipped to a pocket.

I really like mine. Great design, excellent ergonomics, and well made out of top notch materials.

Oh it's ON THE LIST and gonna happen! :)

But I've already spent too much on myself this holiday season and my budget is blown... time to make purchases for gifts for others.
I'll be looking to buy the Temperance 2 over the next couple of months.

I will definitely post up some photos and thoughts of my own after I get my hands on one.
