Thoughts on the Spyderco Terzuola...

I’ve been giving the Spyderco Terzuola SLIPIT the ‘come hither’ eye for some time now. I finally added one to a new purchase order which arrived this week, and I have to say that I’m impressed.

First of all, the Terzuola is a good-lookin’ knife. I already knew this from all the photos I’ve looked at prior to purchase and when I finally got it in hand, it did not disappoint. It has the same immaculate fit & finish I’ve come to expect from the good folks at the Taichung facility… ‘nuff said.

I’m accustomed to the silky-smooth action of my Sage 1 and, since I tend not to ‘flick’ my knives, I found the half-stop on the Terzuola a little irritating/frustrating at first (the Bob T is my first SLIPIT—not sure if the half-stop is a common feature.) It certainly took me a little while to get used to it, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. The blade can be flicked open, however, if you throw a little wrist-action into it.

Maybe I’m just fortunate, but the ergos couldn’t be better; the Terzuola fits my mitts perfectly. The knife feels as classy as it looks, imo. Your mileage (and hand size) may vary…

If I had to be super-picky, I’d want the pocket-clip mounted a little higher on the handle. The little leather lanyard thingy would have made more sense if the knife rode deeper in the pocket. Speaking of the lanyard, it was quick to fray around the edges, but a quick/light hit with my Bic seemed to remedy this problem. Some folks choose to remove the lanyard completely and sand down the back-spacer mount, but I think I’ll keep mine. The clip was also came a little tight, but it wasn’t hard to fix.

Overall, the Terzuola is a fantastic little Delica-sized folder! Highly recommended!:cool::thumbup:

Thanks for looking! :)

I've had one since Christmas and I agree with everything you had to say. The fit and finish on this knife is incredible. The lanyard and attatchment point just weren't for me though. I got rid of them after a few days of playing around with it. I really love this little knife! Well done Spyderco!

I love my Terzuola, just not a slip it fan. Slip its have their place in society, just not with me.

My only grip would be the lanyard tail thingy. I have seen a mod to remove it and plan to do the same. Otherwize I really love the design!

What mod would hat be, cutting it off with scissors and sanding the tab away? Not really a mod in my opinion.

I handled one before and thought it was a nice knife. I found the clip was pretty useless though and would have preferred a slightly larger spydie-hole. The knife definitely fits nicely in the hand though.

The Terzuola makes a really good EDC knife. It's light, compact, and the modified wharncliff blade shape proves itself to be useful. However, the lanyard/lanyard hole and the clip does irritate me.

This is my first spydie, and I'm very excited to have it. It's actually the nicest knife I've ever owned. Since I've had it(1 week), I have been in the prowl for my second spydie. I feel like this was a great start. I bought it new for $75 so I feel like I did pretty good. I think Manix 2, a Sage, or a Native is next for me.

I just finished grinding and polishing the lanyard off of my Terzuola slipit. That thing annoyed me to no end. I used a disc sander for the main sanding, then finished off with 400/800/1200 grit sandpapers.

I agree, looks awesome. The Terzoula is an awesome gentleman's folder. A lot of blade for its size and weight.
