Hey guys,

Pulled the trigger on a Lg Micarta Sebenza w/ the Tanto blade. It is very appealing to me with the Insingo like belly and the stout Tanto tip.

Anyone have any experience with the Tanto blade? If so, what are your thoughts!

I have a Zaanto and I like it very much. I like that the "transition" point gives a very useful push/pull cutting zone, and the straight tip section is useful for a variety of tasks. And, as you have already identified, the tip is very stout, a trait I do like.

I carried that exact knife with factory swapped blue thumb studs for about four months straight, up until I recently acquired a Large 21 Basketweave. All I can suggest - buy and use that knife! I have no complaints about the CRK tanto, whatsoever. Rather, it has to be one of the best EDC knives I've had, of many. The secondary tip is perfect for draw cuts, the tip edge is easily maintained on a strop, and the main edge is as easily sharpened and used as the Insingo.

I agree with this and there really isn't much to add...

I'm not a fan of tantos as a rule of thumb, and do prefer the Umnumzaan tanto to the Sebenza, the blade style just suits it better IMO. The CRK tanto has a bit more belly to it than usual and the "Bob Lum" style point makes for a rather useable knife, and a good looker too. I should carry mine far more than I do....:)

Never had one but am considering picking one up...maybe wait till the large Inkosi tanto w/micarta!? 😀

I have the micarta 21 large tanto like you are getting. It's a fantastic design, in my opinion.

The only downside is the thoughts and opinions you my have shared with you from others, but they are easy to ignore. It tends to look a little more tactical and that is NOT why I like it (see posts above for cutting aspects). I hope you enjoy it.

Humm? Glad I read this thread. I only have one true tanto, (not a CRK) and to me it's heavy and ugly. I relegate it only for yard work, digging out weeds, slashing twigs and small branches. It excels well at those tasks and I wipe the mud and dirt off on my tee shirt; sharpening when needed, and tossing back into the pile of so-so knives. But the positive posts here help me to now consider the possibility of ownership. The mental concrete "no" has been breached by testimony.
My 25 is in a very small rotation of favorites. I may add a tanto in the future.

I also have a Star-Tac and it's also at top of the pecking order.
Your photo, because of the grind, makes the tanto appear curved. I know it's only because of the thickness at the spine. No curve...right?
That's not half bad looking. Thanks for the photos I can mull over.

The pic exaggerates it a bit, but the forward (tip) section has just the slightest bit of arc to it. Near straight, but not quite. It is a helluva tough point, and the slight "belly" to that edge (way overstating it to call it a belly) adds to that toughness IMHO.

Sweet tanto , never realized Wilson Combats had the tanto blade as an option!?
