Hey all, I'm on a budget currently and looking for a new knife. I've boiled it down to these knives, I have about $150 to spend. I'm just looking for opinions and I would prefer not to see this thread turn into a fanboy war.
Benchmade 581 - I have the original 580, love the axis assist but hate the handles. I like the aluminum bolsters and G10 scales and I'm extremely interested in trying out M390.
Benchmade 860 - I wasn't too fond of it when it was announced back in December but ever since I received the Benchmade consumer catalog I keep coming back to it and eyeballing it.
Kershaw Speedform 2 - I missed out on the original Speedform so I would like it's little brother. I'm interested in trying out ELMAX as well. The downsides to it is that it's a liner lock and the crazy clip. But, I'm willing to make an exception.
Strider ED M40A3 - I've always liked the look of Striders and I hear great things about the heat treatment. I also really like neck knives, so this is a plus. I really don't like the rifle etched on the handle, it seems too tacticool. But I figure this would be a good baby step into the world of midtechs that won't break the bank.
I'm not interested in any Spydercos currently because all of the Spydercos that I want haven't been released yet. And the last 5 of my knife purchases have been Spydercos, so I'm kind of Spyderco'd out for the time being.
