thoughts on these test results?

im mostly wondering about the blade performance. he tested initial sharpness out of box, then ran it across ironwood with the same amount of force and same amount of passes. the budget sog did the best while the expensive benchmade was close to the worst.

then he sharpened all with the $900 wicked edge at the same angle. got them all crazy sharp and tested again on hedgeapple. surprising results again. $50 sog, $60 spyder tenacious outperformed or matched the $258 benchmade(granted not by much).
i see the civivi elementum recommended so much for a budget knife. i know there is more to a knife than blade performance, but for some(me included) its #1 priority. and the elementum didnt do near as well in edge retention nor blade durability when dropped.
based on this test, for the price, id take the sog or tenacious over the civivi(because im about performance)

isnt d2 supposed to hold an edge better than aus-8/8cr13mov? yet both the sog(Aus8) and tenacious(13mov) held an edge better than the d2 elementum

i tried googling for other videos of people testing and i came across 2 people cutting rope, then trying to cut paper. one guy even had this huge spreadsheet of his results but they are very far from scientific.
at least PF uses a machine that is designed to test sharpness and give a sharpness level instead of "how many cuts of rope"
he also uses the same amount of force(weights) and same range of motion(whole blade) when he tries to test the edge retention

i dont know what all process is involved in the final product of the steel of a knife, but could it be possible a d2 knife by a company with a subpar procedure performs worse than a lower quality steel by a different manufacturer who has one of the best processes? d2 should hold edge better than aus8,8cr, even the buck with its 420hc maintained its edge better than the civivi elementum's d2
