Thoughts onthe Brian Tighe Stick

Don't buy it if you want to flick it, basically impossible. And avoid lock stick (no lock insert).

Otherwise a very impressive looking (and functional) knife. I have two.

I have to admit that when I have to choose between the stick and the Hundred Pacer, I always pick the Snake. In some ways they are similar, but the Hundred Pacer is just a little more functional, even useful in the kitchen.

Any specific questions ? Thanks.

I bought one on closeout sale. If I ever get around to grinding the spydie hole into a "wave" hook, and installing a tip up clip, it'll be an exceptional tactical folder. Until then, well, I can see why it didn't sell.

I have several Brian Tighe model Tighe Sticks and the spyderco version is every bit as high quality as the originals .

It is an amazing add to my collection... I now have 3

I'm looking at one on eBay. Hoping to snipe it for cheap but the bids are already getting close to my cutoff.

Interesting design.

Would like to buy one to add to my collection of longer upswept bladed Spydercos that currently includes the K2, 100 Pacer and Chinook 4. Hoping to add the Tighe Stick and Mamba to this group before I'm done.

What price are you seeing it on eBay?

Current asking prices for new ones (not offered at auction) are crazy -- $350-400. I would never buy one for that price.

However, actual sales prices for both new and used one has been as low as about $165 to a high of about $270. The one currently offered at auction is bid at $174, which I expect to go higher w/3 days left in the auction. Depends on how much you want it. Given past sales, it looks quite possible to get one for less than $200. You just have to be patient, regularly monitor new listings and will to wait for the "right one" to pop up.

Since I'm retired, live alone and really have nothing better to do, I have more than enough time to waste to do this. LOL! ;)

Don't forget the Szabo :)

Have one but classify it differently.

It goes better IMO w/the Jot Singh Khalsa, Gunting and Ayoob in terms of design and function. I've also got the Khalsa and a Lapu Lapu Corto (which is all but identical to the Gunting, except for price). Actually got a Corto w/a trainer for less than 1/2 of what people are asking for a Gunting.

Still looking for a Gunting and Ayoob for the right price to complete this group. Have seen and considered some but the price and/or condition wasn't what I wanted.

The search continues. :)

What do you think of a price of $245 for new in box/pouch never used or carried Spyderco Tighe Stick Knife?

I think that would be a reasonable price (on the high side of actual sales) but I personally would still try to find one for less, if I could, just because it's not that high on my buy list.
