Thoughts?

I`ve been thinking about an EDC size (6 1/2" oal, 3" blade) Scout. What are your thoughts on this?

Would it be 3 inch cutting area? I would love to see a full 3 1/2 in the handle as 3 inches is kinda hard to maneuver. Didn't know where the tang length figured in. I'm interested.

It would be a 3 1/2" handle, I may have to adjust the overall length a little. I`ll do some cardboard cutouts to check it out.

Your Scout is a fantastic design. I think any size you decide to make one in will sell.

I'd need pics before voting. I think the Kentucky Fieldmate of Riverwoods Companion are great edc sized knives. Of course the ewok is terrific too. The edc knives you made my sons are like mini phoenix style blades. And the Rockywolf's choice is on my older son's belt often: he likes the clip on the kydex a lot.

I decided to profile one out today, to heat treat with my next batch next weekend. It`s 7" overall, with a 3" blade. The blade is 1" tall, the knife is 1 1/4" tall at the guard, made of 1/8" steel.

Interesting. Are you able to get your whole hand between the guard and pommel without feeling "crowded?"

I like it, but I think the front of the guard needs to have a little steeper angle and maybe reduce the size a bit? or maybe cut the in a little more in(toward blade) the finger area. Looking at my Scout Jr. to compare them(which isn't quite the Scout); the EDC Scout guard looks a little too big IMO. Might have to see scales on it though for better scale.
