Thread Icon legend

can anyone explain the icons or direct me to a legend. i.e. in the far left will be a blue or red envelope? sometimes the envelope has an arrow, etc. I have now idea what they mean. some are obvious, like closed thread, but others are not.

The Icon legend is at the bottom of most forums you will visit, on the lower left side of the page.
