Thread prefixes - make your requests here

A new feature for the forums with the latest software upgrade is thread prefixes. You'll see various sets available in various forums. If you'd like to see a prefix for a particular forum (or site wide), please suggest it here.
 
In the past year there was a lengthy discussion in the Custom and Handmade section about critiquing, and the protocols. In the end much got discussed, but there still isn't a hard and fast rule about when it's appropriate.

Maybe a prefix like 'For Review', or 'Opinions Wanted', or 'Critique OK' would benefit posters and members to be honest and insightful without crossing a perceived line.

Or the converse opener: 'Praise Only' or 'Kumbaya Alert'. ;)

How about; "Just trolling:", "Post Whoring:", and "For the Millionth Time:"...

Might need a "Sebenza vs [X]" tag, or "Cold Steel or Benchmade or Spyderco?" for General discussion
 
Advertisement - It would be fun to see if the spammers actually use it.
 
I have no idea if the following would be useful or wanted but maybe in traditional you could have one for slipjoint and one for fixed blade so folks could quickly find either if they are prejudiced.

For Gadgets and gear one for firearms and one for flashlights so we can filter out all the foofaraw.

If these are bad ideas, please don't tell me about it as it would damage my delicate flower feelings.
 
i would like to see "off topic" gotten rid of. it seems to pop up all the time anymore which to me says it doesn't belong in this section anyway:rolleyes:
 
Assuming Spark was really looking for suggestions....

A common topic, usually in Community but sometimes elsewhere, is when someone requests prayers and/or smoke for a loved one who is ill or in the hospital.
 
In the Exchange I would like to see the following prefixes added:

SOLD

FOR SALE

FOR TRADE

FOR SALE OR TRADE

WANTED

"Not sure if this is ok, but I'm going to post it anyway"
 
Yeah, as if I'm not gonna feel free to move your thread with or without your permission.
 
I think in the Schrade, Camillus, Buck and BRL's forum they should have:
ID a knife?
ID a model?
Manufacture date range help?
Material question?
Tang stamp question?

You could put them in the general prefix sub-tab

Or something along those lines
A lot of posts in those sub-forums are from newer members visiting BF and wanting some general info on an unknown (to them) knife
I know a lot of members take great pleasure in trying to date and ID knives

We seem to enjoy a LOT of Work In Process (Progress?) threads in the Custom/Handmade forum. (Probably in the Shoptalk forum, too, but specifically in the Handmade forum.)

This would be a nice banner.

I would also like to see a "SPAM" prefix for mods only if we actually get someone who uses the "Advertisement" prefix I suggested earlier.
