thread tape on the Zaan, my thoughts

Hello y'all
My thoughts are don't do it . I disassembled and cleaned my Zann for the first time . After using tread tape on other knives, with great success I decided to give it a go on the Zaan . The tolerances are so tight on the Zaan . That the added bulk of the tape doesn't work . It makes the pivot screw to tight . It tightened up before the screw was completely set . Took it apart again cleaned the tape off and put a dab of loctite on it .. all is well .. I would love to hear y'alls experiences .

I have always just gone with thread locking glue, it works great so I never even thought to try something different. The tape not working makes sense given the way that CRKs are built:)

What kind of thread tape do you use?
I use teflon based thread band on my lg 21 and it works great.
I use only a very small amount - more like fiber.
hope this helps

I used the Teflon tape . What got me started on the tape was my zt 562cf . It has a notorious reputation , for the pivot screw coming loose . I read many claims that thread lock didn't work. So as soon as I got it I thread taped it. I have never had an issue with the pivot screw coming loose . I also did it on my zt 801 same great result . So I tried it on my zaan . And I explained what happened in my OP . Wow you did it on your 21 . No problem with my 21 loosening so I'll leave well enough alone . Does the tape come in different thickness? Mine seems a little thick .
