Threads flagged as "read" but unread???

I think maybe this is a switch somewhere in the User CP that I turned off unknowingly by mistake, but I can't find it...

While I'm reading/responding to some threads, the ones I haven't read yet I let go for a while...when I come back later to read them, they've already been flagged [titles changed from dark blue to light blue] as "read"...

Is there a switch for this, that automatically flags them as "read" after a certain length of time???

(I'm not talking about the Forum Tools/Mark this Forum as Read in the toolbar)...

Or is this a global setting that I have no control over???

Thank you! ;)

If you don't do anything (that the system perceives) for 15 minutes the system decides you're done for now and marks all threads read. Forum software designers must think that's a convenience for you....

Once you've loaded a page moving around in it (hitting page-down or clicking the mouse or whatever) doesn't send any signal to the Bladeforums system, but if you refresh the page or open a new page or another thread or refresh the thread list, things like that tell the system you're still here and prevent it timing out.

You can have multiple windows open and as long as you do something in at least one window the system won't time you out. The problem is likely to arise when you're writing a long post -- but if you have another window open at Bladeforums, the thread list or whatever, and refresh that once in a while while you're writing the post, you won't time out.

Thank You for the quick response! ;)

So it's not me but some peckerhead at Jelsoft... :grumpy:

Well, that's good to know...That it wasn't my bumbling around, I mean...

I think it's suddenly not working right. I'm seeing a lot of weirdness.

I suspect the daylight savings time switch.
