Nice pic of some nice knives. Enjoy 'em in good health, Rob!

I'm diggin' the barlow. Fit and finish looks very good.

Rob. . . .how's walk / talk and what kind of edge did is come with ?

The beans and tortillas are worth those three. I like the winterbottom bone scales on the Queen.

Great stuff Rob! Cool photo too. Too bad you couldn't get the waved version of that peanut. Oh well.

If you run out of beans, I know where you can get some good jerky.

Hey Gig,
The walk/talk is good. Not too tight, not too loose, but just right, as Goldilocks would say. Nice snap at the open, close and half stop position. Scales match pretty good on both side. Edge was good right out of the box, smooth and fairly sharp. I have not put it to the stones yet but they are carbon steel blades as you know so it should be easy to sharpen up some more. Secondary blade was centered but the main failed the "insert a piece of paper between blade and liner test". No visible blade rub but it does seem to be touching the liner at about the midway point.
I give it an 8 1/2 out of 10. I do like it a lot.

Those are some sweet knives. I would really love to heard more about that barlow when you get familiar with it.

I am a big fan of the Queen/Burke collaborations, but have not seen any of
the new series. (I plan on calling Dan this weekend to find out a little more about them. For instance, why they abandoned BG-42 steel.)

Anyway, I would like a brief review of the trapper, when you get a chance.

Anyway, where you live, there is a nice variety of beans and tortillas.
Doesn't seem to be too bad a consequence for picking up those fine knives.

(Of course, I don't live near you.:D)

I really dig that barlow, too! Damn, and I thought I was satisfied for the time being... ;)

shaldag - The trapper is the second in this series that I bought. I also have the large stockman (large is only 3 1/4). The blade action on the trapper feels more crisp than the stockman. Blades on both are centered when closed and without any blade play. The funny thing is that on the stockman the clip blade has a firm half-stop, the sheepfoot blade is a little sloppy at the half stop position, and the spey blade appears to have no half stop at all. The trapper has firm half stops for both blades. Both knives had smooth edge without burs but could stand to be a little sharper. I had no problem getting a sharper edge on both knives. As you know these are 12C27. Both are nice knives all in all and are finished a little better than the basic Queen knives I have seen. The trapper has a little more heft than the stockman. I like the trapper better.

Satisfied? Oh you foolish, foolish man.:D

Thank Rob !

*Off to visit AG Russell's store* :D

The scales on that Queen Trapper do a lot for me, handsome knife:thumbup:
Do they do a Mini-Trapper version or similar?

I was slobbering over the picture so I overlooked the dimensions:D

Er, where might I obtain one?
