With the BLADE Show getting really close, I thought it would be nice to
display some more Davidson Integral candy....
This time a set of three different hunters made for Larry and Cindy Keyes.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

That is a stunning set. What is the handle material?

Roger

Edmund used desert ironwood as handle material and 440-C steel
(Rc 58) with a satin finish for all three knives.
Jere Davidson engraved each piece with a different pattern.
All three knives were finished on the same day, July 18th 1994...

From the top:
“Loveless-Design Drop Point Hunter”
Loveless-design series #18. Blade length is 3 5/8” (92 mm), and the
overall length is 8 3/8” (213 mm).

“West Virginia Skinner”
The blade length is 3 3/4” (95 mm) and the overall length is 8 1/2”
(216 mm).

“MK II Skinner”
The blade length is 3 1/4” (83 mm) and the overall length is 8 1/8”
(206 mm).

In my opinion, Edmund Davidson is an outstanding knifemaker. These three are a prime example of the fantastic work he does.

I've really come to notice and appreciate Edmond's work recently. Ironic too, as he only lives about an hour and a half from me.

I've really been drawn repeatedly to pictures of Van Karls Death Star

A new arrangement (Background) for Eric Eggly's composite of the famous
“Von Karls’ Death Star Dagger”, is presented here especially for you, Gabe.
This illustration is of course displayed on a full page in Edmund's new book... :)

Finished in 2004, this amazing Full Integral has 4 desert ironwood handle
scales, 440-C steel, all over hand-rubbed finish, Rc 58.
Blade length 6 3/4” (171 mm), overall length 12 1/4” (311 mm).

The rough bar used to create this knife was 1” (25 mm) thick, 2 1/2”
(64 mm) wide and 12 3/8” (314 mm) long.

This was the most complicated knifemaking project Edmund took upon
himself during his first 18 years of making Full Integrals. It began early
in 1999 and the knife was displayed finished 5 years later, at the New
York East Coast Custom Knife Show (ECCKS) in March 2004. At the
show, it received the Judges Choice Award.
From the collection of Dr. Christopher Kuettner.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Great stuff! Thanks for the pictures. Edmund Davidson knives and Jere Davidson engraving is about as good as it gets in my opinion.

“Von Karls’ Death Star Dagger” is amongst my favorites.

That particular dagger and Eric's shots have always given me pause and a smile. REALLY nice work, now by four artists! ;)
