Alright, I know these kind of musings have been done before, but it's always rewarding to hear others' likes and why.

Suppose you are FORCED to take only three knives with you on a fantasy trek lasting days or longer which three would you take and why?

MINE:

BARK RIVER NEBULA large enough for batoning and heavier duties but not too clumsy or weighty. Stainless too for practicality.

BUCK ALPHA DORADO folder in 154 excellent small folder for food preparation or smaller tasks. An unjustly overlooked knife in my view.Good for belt or pocket.

BÖKER Copperhead in Niagara bone. with carbon blades. An old school European slipjoint offering choice of easy to sharpen blades.Nice traditional pocket carry.

Be reassuring to have a machete or hatchet but no room in my pack, sigh!

What's your choice?

I'd carry the same thing I do now, an Opinel or an AG Russell Hunters Scalpel. I'd leave the other two at home, which would allow me to carry extra water or necessities and/or make better time hiking.

I wouldn't need three knives, unless I was on some kind of photo shoot. Give me my Swamp Rat Howling Rat and SAK and I'm all set.
