Blade : Tire Iron Steel - 5"
Guard : 416 Stainless
Handle : Three Green Burl Bcarta - 4 3/8"
Pin : 416 Stainless
Overall : 9 3/8"

Here's one I'd forged out a while back, been finishing up bldaes that've been laying on my work bench for a while.
This one and another that's lined up were both forged from a Tire Iron I'd had.
The handle is from a batch of burl style homemade micarta made form 3 different colors of lightweight green cloth.
Was a trial run on a modified method. Wasn't crazy about how my first attempt turned out.
This way worked much better, so planning to make up some more in other colors.
Just took one of the blocks I'd made and cut a hunk off that'd go well with the blade.
It's got a couple little flaws, got a little impression on the ricasso on each side, the same spot, and I'm not entirely sure how it happened. I'm thinking one of the times in the vise when driving on the guard.
It'd be a great little utility knife for someone though =]

That is one stunning knife!! I LOVE the handle. I love everythign about that knife.

Thanks for the comments guys
Glad you like it TKC.

As for the steels I'm not exactly sure, I just treated it as I do the simple carbon steels I use. I had clay coated it in an attempt for a hamon. But when I'd etched, the hardening line seemed to be located in the plunge/ricasso area, so it hardened up even under the clay.

I'll try to hit it on the grinder next time I'm out in shop as it's been a while since I'd done so. I usually do that to see if it has nice sparks/carbon.

Nice looking blade.....really like the green handle....not enough people incorporating green into their work. :D
