Normally I find myself buying knives from a variety of manufacturers, as I like to try different brands and styles. I don't purchase that many overall in the course of a year (at least compared to others here on BF), so I don't tend to accumulate a lot of any particular brand. For some reason though, the last three knives I bought have all been Bucks.
It started toward the end of the summer when I got this 301. I chose it partly because I wanted to try the Stockman pattern and also because I wanted something low maintenance for the hot weather.
The 301 was my main EDC for a few months until my 2012 Traditional Forum Knife arrived(previously paid for). During deer season I was looking at a few of my buddy's 110s and thought to myself, I can't believe I don't have one of these iconic American knives! Shortly thereafter I bought one and a horizontal sheath to be able to carry it more comfortably.
The most recent Buck I bought was this past week. I used to have a small Vantage Select that I gave away to someone who was interested in knives but didn't have anything of quality. It was a nice knife, but it was a little too small for me. I had a rare day off during the middle of the week and decided to take a short trip over to GPknives to look at the large version in person. I ended up getting a large Pro model as a late Christmas present for myself. If I had handled the finger grooved 112 I was eyeballing in the case, it would have probably been a fourth.
I'm not sure if it's the beginning of a buying trend, but I do know that I would recommend all of these knives to anyone. I have other knives that many would consider 'higher end' or at least more expensive, but there is something about the quality of knife Buck produces relative to the cost that really appeals to me.
