the cleaver is strange. i lost my conception during making it, and it's little monster now. it don't fit good in hand. it is 4 mm d2.

the last one i was making without conception. it's only training of this kind of ground (hollow recurved and flat tip). i wanted to make it wooden scales, but they were look awful, so it has leather now. it is also 6 mm (.23 inch) thick d2, heat treated to 58 hrc.

Damn, man... you're insane, and you DEFINATELY have a style of your own. What's with the multiple overlapping grinds on the tanto, and the varying grinds on the last one?

uh, i don't understand what do you want to ask...

Guldan might I ask what kind of finish is on those blades. It's very cool, kind of rustic.

Yeah, sorry, I'm kind of muddle-headed today. Well, on the first knife, is there any non-aestetic reason for the seemingly overlapping grinds. On the last one, the one you said was practice, which of the grinds are which (I'm assuming point is flat, belly is hollow) and how do they effect cutting, especially if the cut involves a transition from one to the other?

in first knife i made this gounds only from aesthetic reason. on the second i wanted to make thought tip and very sharp, deep hollow ground. it's not my idea, it was (if i good remember) invented by Elishewitz and continued by other makers (Strider for example). i like it aesthetic look and it is quite practice when you work hard using tip of knife.

the edge has the same angle on flat part and on hollow part, so there isn't neseccity to change angle during sharpening, and it also cut quite good.

I really like the third knife allot, good interpretation of the "nightmare grind" I have a thing for small fixed blades in kydex for EDC. What kind of sheath are you going to make for the third one.

i still don't know. leather or kydex, all would be nice. but in both types of sheats i'm beginner, so i'll need to try and learn.

edit: anyway, i'm going to make more knives in this type of grounds, because i like it a lot.

like your work..
esp. the first one
I'm wondering if it's possible to get one... somewhere.. somehow..?

truck-freak: unfortunatley, all of them have their destination. first two have owner, the last one goes o my private collection for showing people the examples of my work.

I have seen the stuffs made by Guldan. I'm impressed the unique and bold styles. You're a good knifemaker! ^^

I love these knives. For some reason your knives seem to fit with my perception of Poland.

Keep the pics coming, and keep up the great work.

Thanks.
