Here are three more knives I'll be taking to the Ohio Classic Knife Show next week.
First is a California Buckeye Burl Personal Carry that I have recently named "The Patrolman". I've sold quite a few of these in the past but I just recently had one of our Southern Border Patrol Officers order one in Blackwood, and I thought this name fit.
Anyway, this is Stabilized California Buckeye Burl with hotblued Take-down fittings of Mild steel, and a multiple quenched and etched 5160 blade.
Overall length of this is 10 1/4" with a 5 1/2" blade.

Secondly is a Desert Ironwood Integral, in a Take-down assembly with hot-blued mild steel fittings. The W1 Integral blade was forged from 7/8" W1 and clay backed for some "Psycho Hamon"!
I see quite a few Integrals lately in both slab handles and hidden tang, but, as far as I know, I haven't seen any in Take-down - other than myself.
Overall 10 1/8" with a 5 3/4" blade to the hotblued spacer.

Last is a Russian Olive Burl Hunter with stainless Take-down fittings and a multiple quenched and deeply etched 5160 blade.
This was my first opportunity to use Russian Olive Burl, but you can bet I'll be using more in the future, Super dense and a lot of figure.
This should be a really 'hard-use hunter'!
Overall length of 10 1/4" with a 5 3/8" blade.

I LOVE all of those knives. But, that first one makes my heart go pitter patter!! Thanks for sharing, as those are all gorgeous knives!

Nice going on all of these! I really like the looks of the integral!:thumbup:

Beautiful work, Karl. I may get to see them in person if you still have any left by Saturday:thumbup::D

Nice set. I also like your integral! Which is the first I have seen from you. I wonder a little about the handle length on this example... I prefer your slightly longer handles.

Nice .. especially the W1 Integral blade with "Psycho Hamon"

This is my second integral and I learned something in making it!
The handle material is one thing, but the handle "grip" area is another!
When you hold an integral your hand grasps not only the handle material, but ALSO includes the integral bolster!
Even though the bolster is an integral part of the blade, it is ALSO part of the "handle"!
Your forefinger grips ahead of the handle material.
The balance point on this knife is right where my forefinger comfortably rests. I also researched all of the integral knives I could find and calculated the overall dimensions of the ones that appeared to have the most visual "balance".
Almost 100% of them were 60% blade and bolster/40% handle material.
If you held this one, it would all become clear.
Here's one I post the other day with the same proportions:

You can like how a knife looks... but there is no substitute for how it feels in your hand! Thanks for the feedback and I missed your first integral post.

I think a Damascus spacer would add "A LOT" foir just a little more work.
I like these integrals very much and especially like the fact that they are takedowns.

Holy Moly! 4 gorgeous knives... can't even pick a favorite, they are all incredible.
