I've been impressed with my 347 Vantage Pro enough that I went ahead and ordered the smaller 342. Looking forward to seeing how I like it, though it seems to be much less popular than the larger model.

Was looking at a 55 as well, but decided on the 503 Prince instead as I prefer the nickel bolsters & drop point blade just a bit.

And since I don't have any really small carry knives besides a SAK Recruit, I also ordered a 505 Knight. I think I'll have pocket carry covered for any occasion with the 505-503-342-347 lineup. :D

Would love to hear any feedback on the 503 / 505 / 342!

Congrats. I've got the 342 and while it's a great knife I prefer the larger size of the 347. The 342 does fit nicely in my watch pocket, I'm just afraid I'll forget it's there and run it through the wash.

Well, I'm a big honkin folder kind of guy but I have them all(well 506 instead of 505). The 342 feels solid as can be. The flipper doesnt work nearly like the 347, just because of size but it is a stout little knife. I love the 500 series so i love the 503 and 505 but are too small for me to carry anywhere other than church.

i tend to edc the full size vantage pro and a 301. but on days where i need a bit smaller (suit pockets for church) i go with the 342 (w/clip removed) and 309. the 342 is just as solid as my other/larger vantages just a bit slower to open and of course smaller blade.

also use another 342 in my PFD as it fits in a small pocket while kayaking since i'm always needed to cut something and the one hand open/close makes it so much easier while on the water.

so prefer the full size vantages by far margin but when those are just a bit much i'm glad to have the 342.

the 500 series are some of my favorites. a lot more robust then you'd expect in that size of a knife. will often use one in a small sheath if my pockets are full or while out in the woods in the pocket as a "backup" for my 110 on the belt.

those 500 series also make great gifts/pass around knives to introduce folks into Buck beyond the 110/119 almost everyone knows about. affordable, slim and still sturdy.

Knives arrived today...

Wow, the 505 is a TINY little knife! So small I don't see it getting much pocket time, but no such thing as too many knives, so what the heck.

The 503 is really nice. Good small size, nice finish with the polished nickel bolsters, and all the Bucks came sharp.

The small Vantage Pro is really nice too. I like the G10 scales and the blade is very sharp as delivered. As mentioned before, the flipper works fine, but the opening holes don't really cut it for me anyway. This one will be a frequent carry knife for sure.
