Hey Guys,
Three of the Kershaws that I've been panting for the most lately just showed up:thumbup: Of course, I'm thrilled with all three, but the RAM is by far the coolest. Action is silky smooth and quite a bit of fun to boot. OSO Sweet is one great little knife for the price. Nice lockup, great little clip, and I like the blade shape. Handle slabs feel just a tad light and hollow, but the more I hold the knife the better I feel about it. I'll put this little devil to work and let you guys know how it pans out. The Occ Blur was quite a nice surprise. Like others said, pics don't do it any justice. The aluminum scales are incredible looking up close!! Very happy with this little bunch:D

Last I heard it was supposed to be AUS 8 I think. The Kershaw website says blade steel info is not available at this time, so it's possible that it has changed. Not a bad little knife for Chinese production. Very comfy in the hand, and hair popping sharp out of the box.

Cheers,
Jon

It would be easier to tell if they put the steel info on the knife. :)

What'd you pay for it?

Original published specs for the Oso Sweet listed AUS6A as the steel for the 3.5" blade. But as pointed out, perhaps that's changed as Kershaw currently doesn't list the specs on their site. The handle is injection-molded glass-filled nylon.

The knife sells in various places from approx $22 to $40.

Knice new additions to your collection, jonnymac...

Thanks Ray,
And thank you for providing the requested info. I Knew it was a variety of AUS Steel that I had read originally. Guess I forgot exactly which one:o All three of these new blades have something to offer. The OSO is an excellent value, The OCC Blur adds a REALLY nice handle to an already awesome classic Kershaw, but by far, the one I just cant put down is the R.A.M.!! This thing is sweet, from the blade shape, to the excellent level of grip you get from the G-10 overlays to the most smooth pivot I've seen in some time to the razor sharp edge!! I cannot say enough good about the R.A.M.:D

Cheers,
Jon

Jon...no problem...

All 3 look really sweet...I don't have any of these yet but would like all 3 when able...:D

I really like the lines of the Oso Sweet...

I've heard the RAM has the smoothest action of any fillper so far from Kershaw. Would you agree?

ok 1. absolutly awsome pic ups, 2. picture the Oso with a Krein regrind :D :D (more on my smiles later :D), 3. yes the RAM is the smoothest i have seen :D

2. That'll be interesting, the regrind will cost more than the knife! :D

Not to digress, but I've encountered a similar but lesser quandry with another hobby, guitars. I have a couple of moderately low-cost acoustic guitars (both fine instruments nevertheless), and periodically I contemplate outfitting one or both with high-end tuning machines (pegs) that as a set are a good chunk of the guitars' original cost. :D

Better precision is compelling...;)

Hey OL, yes, a regrind would be cool, but I would hate to see the factory grind lost on this one. What I haven't mentioned yet is that the OSO sweet has this incredibly reflective, mirror polished looking grind on it that I haven't seen on any other knife. You can kinda make it out in the 5th picture down from my first post, but up close it's even more intense. You really need to see it to know what I'm talking about, but trust me, you haven't seen a shinier grind in some time!!:D

Cheers,
jon

great looking knives! congratulations.

I'll certainly buy OSO sweet when it has G10 or anodized aluminium handle and a better edge-holding steel. the design of the knife is great, but the materials used are nothing of interest to me. I 'd prefer to pay a bigger buck to have a better knife.

I can understand that, but that wasn't the goal of this knife. In my opinion, it was supposed to be a good quality inexpensive entry level knife intended to make the speedsafe assisted opening more accessible to a wider range of customers. If that's true, I think it serves this purpose quite well.

Don't get me wrong, I love high end materials as much as anybody, but I haven't heard anything that would hint at the possibility of a sprint run of titanium framelock CPM D2 OSO Sweets!!:D Let me know where I can preorder one if it happens;)

Cheers,
Jon

That Oso Sweet looks highly ergonomic.
The R.A.M. looks nice, but the handles look kind of blocky - any pics of it in-hand (with grip variations)?
