Final versions of the blades will get all Black G10, smaller Choil, two pins with a thong hole, Steel pommel cap, and maybe a SS accent spacer behind the guard.
This particular blade has a really nice slicing edge along with a strong spine. Has the abilty to be double edged at customers request, maybe add some teeth:eek:

I like this one, but I liked the first one best.
Have to agree with you I have always felt the Musso bowie style blade is a superior fighting design.
Strong as hell, an extended point for penetrating thru a breast plate or getting between the ribs to vital parts!
Have made these with the upper half done in a flat grind (Still leaving a 5/32nds" spine) taking out a bunch of blade weight while leaving full thickness thru the center to the point.
This has the added benefit removing the catch point a full thickness spine has.
Splain...Well if you happen to take a swing and catch the oponents arm or whatever they were dumb enough to expose, the blade would continue on thru unimpeded. Living flesh has a habit of closing around whatever has penetrated it. Yuk
Not to say that this smaller version is anywhere near as effective as a full sized Bowie in a fight. But it is a well thought out design...Those guys back then knew their stuff.
